This year I ordered several varieties that are supposed to have flower diameters of 24-25 cm. Of these, so far I have flowers from Violetta and Monaco, and both have diameters of only 19 cm. Both are nicely rooted and seem very healthy. As is, the flowers are quite impressive, and the overlapping round petals give these flowers a larger-than-life presence, so a 25 cm flower would be truly stunning. Should I expect flowers to be substantially larger next year when the plants are well established?

At least I still have a couple more large varieties to wait for (Monte Carlo and Lagoon), so maybe I will yet see a flower larger than 20cm.
