Well, mine easily handle 40F overnight without problem so I can not imagine a cool window would bother them at all to be honest. I'm sure others with more experience will be able to give you more solid advice :o) Dan

Well I know these don't get no where that cold because it has warmth coming through the opening in the curtains and it also comes under them too, so I will leave them there and see what happens, thanks Dan.

I have many of my bulbs on windowsills day and night and they do just fine. Even if your window glass were to get too cold the least that would probably happen would be a little burn on the leaves where it touched the glass. Now if it went down to the teens and stayed there for a few days you might have a problem but, since you only have the two pots moving them shouldn't be a problem.

The second scape is opening up, do I keep it out of the sunlight now, or wait until it opens up more?

Inside living area is just fine, unless you live in a refrigerator. My hipps are kept outside, uncoverd, in plastic or clay pots and I only cover once or twice a year due to below freezing temps. During the last few weeks our temps have dropped to the mid to upper 30s several times (cold!!! LOL) and I notice leaf damage on about 1/3 of the plants but no permanent damage. On many of the plants where damage is noticeable, new leaves are already emerging. Note: I live in central Florida.

Here, well established hipps living in ground routinely tolerate freezing to slightly below freezing temps (overnight) without permanent damage, and without being covered year after year.
