I am totally amazed by this. I never would have thought. I have a pond which I plan on setting up this spring on my deck, it's a split rock pond. Very small, but will be perfect. (Perhaps I can get a few pointers for setting up pond in the spring). I have no idea how to set up this pond. I guess it's like setting up a fish tank. :)

Just start looking in the Pond Forum below. There are lots of ideas in there. The angels, and any other tropical fish will do good as long as you bring them in. I only get June July and August here. One summer, I put 3 platys in. By the end of summer I had babies from the third generation. They do absolutely fabulous out in the sun. Colors are fantastic and grow very fast. Fast enough for three generations. The biggest problem is catching them in the fall. There will be some casualities, if you can handle it. Sad but if they hide I can't help them. Bettas don't seem to do to well... they can't tolerate the heat very well. I've never had luck with them. Platys, guppies, angels, swordtails, all did well. I might try Kissing gouramis this summer with the Angels.

I had a large batch of Mollies that I couldn't give away. So,I thought maybe the pond fish would take them as live food. NOT! The Mollie's just grew huge and lived it up,LOL!
I felt bad and set up a tank just for them in the house and moved them in in ealy September. They looked in better condition then their parents.

It is amazing how fast and how colorful your tropical fish will grow outdoors. I had 4 generations of Swordtails from June to September one summer. They were so brightly colored being outside. I started with 3, ended up with over 100. The babies were reproducing in 5 weeks.

I do the same with my guppies, I have so many once the winter comes and its time to take them out. The help eat the mosquitos and add so nice little bits of color all over.

i have always wanted to do that with angels, but my puddle just isn't big enough. it is great conditioning with all the live food!
