Hello everyone ..
I think an Ich infestation is starting in my 20 gallon aquarium since I have observed 5 small white specks on the tail of my Serpae Tetra and 2 - 3 faint white spots on my Tiger Barb. All the spots are located on the back fin of the tails.
All of the fish in the tank are acting healthy and stable and there are really no signs of the fish rubbing or scatching or heavy breathing ect. and all fish are eating once per day.
However .. that tank is still uncycled .. all the fish have been in the tank 14 days .. current pH = 8.0 .. T=78 F.. NH3 = 1.0 .. NH2 = .25 .. NO3 = 2 - 3 ppm. gH = 300 ppm..kH=180 ppm. I did add 18 drops of Aquari Sol per 15 gallons when I added the fish as suggested by my local aquarium shop.
Any ideas on treatment ?? Is there any way to ID Ich with greater certainty then just white spots ?? Should I treat at all since the fish seem OK so far ?? I do have two very good microscopes .. Any tips on using them in conjunction with the aquarium and Ich ?
Thanks for any ideas ...
Good Day ...
