Fish has chapped lips.

My goldfish a comet which is about 7yrs old and about 14inches in link is suffering from somekind of mouth infection. The lips of the fish are swollen and red and she bangs around like shes trying to shake her mouth off. I have used Maracyn two for 6 days with no improvement I have no idea what too do, help!!! She slams her mouth into the rocks like it hurts or itches. Is this an infection or a fungus???? thanks.

For Koi and goldfish, I've found that salt is the best cure-all.
