I had a beautiful female pearl gourami, almost a year old, in a community tank.
I have been promising her a boyfriend for a long time.
Today I bought a juvenile male and put him in along with a couple of other community fish.
She was interested in him while I was resting the bag to acclimatize him.
After I put him in He was curious about her but didn't harass her.
Within hours she was gulping at the surface and sitting a little sideways. Her breathing became labored. She then started to glance off the bottom of the tank.
Within four hours she was dead.
This morning she was fine. :(
What happened to my pearl???
