getting a tank

I'm picking up a 29 gal setup tomorrow that I found in the newspaper. A friend is already offering to give me some juvenal cichlids that she got with her aquarium, but she doesn't know what species they are. They are from Honduras. The adults are about 2 1/2 inches long, and have just hatched some fry. Would they be likely to get bigger than that? They are slender bodied-sort of barracuda shaped, brown and yellow. She has them in a tank with zebra danios.

I plan to have a community tank-congo tetras, pearl gouramis, zebra danios, cory cats. In a similar set up (no corys then) I had years ago I had a pair of kribensis which got along fine with that community.

Any ideas if these cichlids would be trouble in my setup?

They seem to hang out mostly at the bottom of the tank so my biggest concern would be for the corys.
