Betta not eating

momofboys3

I have a Betta that my son won in September of last year. He usually is perky and happy to see me, and in the past has eaten well.

He has not eaten for 4 days now. I'll put a small pinch of freeze dried blood worms in, and he ignores them. Goes to surface for air, but doesn't eat. I always take out the food after 15 minutes or so, since he's not showing interest.

His bowl is clean, he swims around as if startled now and then, but often stays at the bottom of the tank. The most striking is his lack of response when I come in the room. He no longer comes to the front of the bowl and acts frantic like he used to (then I'd feed him and he'd attack his food).

We've not changed anything recently, location, type of food, water anything. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Kathe
