Hi all, I just joined the site so I could post this. I saw a fancy goldfish at Petsmart yesterday that I fell in love with. I have never been a fish person, but this guy stole my heart. He is just adorable, and I have been thinking about him all day today. I want to go back and see if he's still there (I HOPE HE IS!) but I also want to make sure I properly set up a tank, etc. so that his arrival is not stressful at all. I don't know anything about fish except for some things I googled and skimmed over on this forum, so I'm a little overwhelmed.

Can anyone give me any basic tips? The woman at the store said I needed at least a 28 gallon tank. How can I properly transition the fish from the store to my home? I'd much prefer to use less chemicals, and I have a feeling Petsmart is not the best place to acquire a fish... but I fell in love.
