anyone keeping these for algae control?

i added some to my aquariums at the office and home about 2 months ago and they have performed exactly as advertised, eating various algae and not eating the live plants. they did, however, lay eggs but i have decided they are not viable. they stuck to the glass for months and i scraped them off and don't see any new ones. the change in water parameters from the store to my tank may have encouraged them to procreate as they are reported to breed only in brackish or salt water.

they have completely cleaned my slow-growing anubias plant to the point where it looks fresh again. it had a lot of the hard algae that can't be scraped off by hand.

they keep the glass clean and i no longer have to scrape it plus the gravel is its natural color again.

anyway, you may have to find them at a locally operated pet store as i have never seen them at the chain stores. they were cheap at $0.50 each.

just thought i would throw this out for anyone having algae problems.

if anyone has any bad experiences to report i would be interested to hear of them.
