I have been cast netting in my neighborhood lake to entertain myself (easy to do) and to perhaps come up with some cool fish for my three tanks.
I have caught three fish that look like blue neons except thier stripes are black. I'm surprised to see these things in this lake but also have been catching fish that look like mollies. The "Mollies" are light colored and the females far out number the males. After five efforts on different days I have finally caught my second male and have caught dozens of females.
The lake is brackish so the fish needs to be buffered into thier new home as far as salinity and temperature but they do adapt well.
I'd love to hear from those with experience with this sillyness and learn from what you know. Great fun for me.
