Brother's betta hasn't eaten in a week and may have worms?

My brother has a female betta that was healthy and fine for a couple months, but recently she just stopped eating. She has not had any food for a week. She will take foo into her mouth, appear to chew the way bettas do, then immediatly spit it out. Two days ago I saw long threadlike things coming from her gills that I assumed were worms. I put her into a salt bath for about 20 minutes and have not seen the worms today, but she still will not eat. She is getting skinny, and her colors are fading. Please help and pray for her!

She still hasn't eaten... I can tell she is hungry... she goes after her food with alot of energy, but she just can't keep it down. She's very thin... Please help!

I had some fish that had some kind of fungus that grew in it mouth. I think it had the name cotton in it. I had not added any new fish but had stressed them when I moved the tank (10 gal.) a few weeks before. They didn't survive it.

She's still alive. She has eaten maybe 6 pellets since the last report (we have always tried to get her to eat three a day) and a fruit fly that landed in my banana smoothie. She WAS happy about that.
