| my dark blue betta has two red stripes that look like gashes or wounds on his cheek that are only really visible when he flares... could this just be in his colouring or is it something I need to worry about? |

| That's perfectly normal. Oftentimes bettas have those markings - they resemble parenthesis - on their gill covers. |

| Great, thankyou... I must seem so paranoid to all you experienced betta owners! But i figure, it's better to be over concerned than to let my poor little guys get sick :( |
