beach rocks/pebbles in tank?

I collected a wide variety of beach rocks and pebbles on the beaches of Nova Scotia and New brunswick this summer. They have been outside in water for the past 3 months. Can I use them in my aquarium with goldfish? Should I put them in a bucket of water and test the water after a few days?

You should be able to use the stones but play it safe. Do like what you said check water that they are in now.
