Female mollies attacking male!

I have a ten gallon tank with two female mollies and a male. In the past the male has nipped at the females. Today, the females, particularly one, is ATTACKING the male. They are going round and round biting each other like dogs in a fight. The male tries to hide and looks exhausted. Two weeks ago this female had babies, which have been in a breeder net in the tank. The female as not been agressive until now. Since discovering this I moved the babies to a 2 gallon tank and moved the male to the breeder for some rest. Should I have moved the agressive female instead? The second female also nips at the male, but does not go round and round in attack.

I'd appreciate any suggestions. This male and female have been together for four months or so. The second female only a few weeks.
