Picking last fish for a tank

I'm an aquarium noob, and I've been working on populating a 20 gallon tank and currently have 5 zebra danios and 3 albino cories. All of these fish currently seem to be happy and to be getting along.

So, I know I'm getting close to the limit on how much my tank will hold and have everybody be happy and healthy. I'm trying to decide if I want to add a dwarf gourami or if I want to get 3 platys. Would 3 platys even be happy, or do they need to be in larger numbers? I've already seen with the danios and cories that the number can have a dramatic effect on how happy they are, so I don't want to get the platys and them not be happy. But, I don't just want danios and cories either if I can help it.

Any thoughts?
