colocasia esculenta blooms "Black Beauty"

Hey all!

Early last year I got a small start from an online nursery and planted it. By the summer it had grown nicely with several offsets. By the late fall, it started to produce blooms with yellow spathes. The problem is that when the bloom got big enough to where you would think the spathe would open a bit, it would just wither and die. This happened on both blooms. I can't tell if I saw all there was to the bloom or if there was a problem. Thanks!
