Variegation is just a virus on normal green species .
I have tried a few times to get various variegated Monstera deliciosa growing well up trees or palms and invariably the variegation dissapears . Keep them on totems well fed and shaded to preserve variegation .. the lack of chlorophyl means they grow slower .. the longer internodes means they are easier to propagate .

I have both variegated types as houseplants here in NJ. The white variegated is one of my favorite plants. However, I find the yellow, surprisingly, more difficult to grow. It is more likely than the white to "burn", and the plant always looks ratty. I will probably get rid of the yellow and only grow the white.

I lost my Monstera in our recent freeze here in Dallas. Would any of you share a cutting or sell me one?

While some variegated plants, esp flowers, are the result of virus, most are not. Typical variegation in Monstera is not a result of virus. The similar species, Philodendron may be subject to Dasheen mosaic virus. Philoluver, Home Depot has great Monstera deliciosa for $7 here in Houston and likely in Dallas.
