Dieffenbachia Tiki in flower- is this rare?

Posted by planetlover 8 (My Page) on

While at Home Depot, I saw a plant in flower. I was tempted to buy it, but I was not familiar with this cultivar. The tag had no information on the ultimate size of the plant. And the plant looked a little ragged otherwise.

But it was very neat to see it in flower. Would it be likely to pollinate itself, and make seed? Should I go back for it?

Personally I would. I have read on another forum, that Dieffy's don't "flower" that often, but I have a mature species that does it every year. I don't know why??
