Amorphophallus titanum : how to trigger dormancy ?

Hi !

I am growing an Amorphophallus titanum in my bathroom.

Recently, I noticed the presence of small bugs crawling in the soil, and which were identified as booklice.

I'm somewhat not afraid of these guys since I've been told they would certainly not become a nuisance.

However, I'd like to get rid of them (just to avoid a potential catastrophe).

So, to have the soil changed, I need to have the plant dormant.

My titanum doesn't seem to want to go dormant. Days lengthen and temperature is 21C (= 70F) all year long. I don't think these are good conditions to go dormant.

I could I force the dormancy?

Would it be a good idea to settle the plant in my garage (where temperature does not exceed 10C (50F) and light is weak) ?

Thanks in adavnce for your answers.
