We just got 22" of snow in 2 days a few days ago. There's 3+ feet on the ground here and it's been real cold too. We're pretty damn sick of it at this point although we've had far worse winters in the past. I am ready for Spring!

I have one that's going to bloom. It bloomed last year as well but it seems to be going a little later this year. The spike is only ~3". My girlfriend hopes it will be warm enough to put it outside when it blooms this time...last year was my first konjac inflorescence and the smell was much worse than anticipated :P

Mines planted in my garden so it won't be awake until June, assuming it survived this insane cold/snow.

My larger one is about 3 ft tall and my next size up is just peeking above the soil. We're a long way from outdoor plant weather and it's going to stink in the house x_x
The dog's going to go crazy again this year again!!

I don't grow them in pots but leave them over winter in the garden and grow them just for foliage. In 12 years, have never had a bloom on them but the leaf is a constant source of comment, and they multiply into nice clumps.

Probably won't see any above ground here till May or so.

lol tommy..:) break out the gas mask...:)
my konjac blooms are almost all done.. 1 has been slow
going..just forming the flower but probably a week from
    opening..
getting pots together now..and potting mix.. im going to
put the konjac in really oversized pots this season..see if
it has any influence on more root growth..and larger corm
size ... id love to grow out a MONSTER konjac corm one day.. ive read of some growers getting a 30+pound corm.. that would be one biggie!!!! rivalling titanum..
    :)

Oh I can't wait till my babies get flowering size! A few of the pups have tiny nubs starting. It's a start anyway.

Iomodor , do you pollenate any of yours? Have you ever gotten viable seed?

very nice tommy!!! :) finally huh..:) my konjac are almost all done now..1 is just opening up ..
    temporal-joe.. i did pollinate 2 konjac 2 yrs ago..and ya..
the "berries" did set..and were viable..i sent many out to friends..
i doubt i'll do it again.. i did then for the experience..but for the konjac corms i pollinated..it set the corms back over a month in sending up the leaf petiole..
it was almost july by the time the berries were bright orange and ripe..but it was something i can say i tried and it worked..:)

    Iomodor, that's so cool!
Last year I collected some jack-in-the-pulpit seed. I've started 2 batches and the first one from the first batch has gone dormant. The new corm is so tiny! I'd love to try amorphophallus seed too!
You grow other amorphophallus besides konjac?
