Repotting Amorphophallus advice needed

Hi

My young Amorphophallus borneensis tuber is now dieing back and I am fairly certain it is going dormant. I want to repot it as its first pot is now way too small. Is it best to wait until the whole leaf has completely died off before doing anything, as I have gathered that as the leaf dies back the starches from it go back into the tuber. Also what happens to the root system on a dormant tuber do they die back as well? As I don't want to risk breaking them when repotting. Given my lack of sucess with most of my Amorphallus I want to get this right!

cheers
