It takes about 3 years to get a good clump from seed, but many of the Dutch bulb importers sell them very inexpensively in spring, this is just the wrong time of the year to plant them here. They go dormant shortly after you receive them.

www.mzbulb.com has a terrific price on var. Marmoratum tubers and will ship spring or fall, but it's best to get September shipment as they are summer dormant and start growing again in October here.

I have a clump thats about 2'x 2' and would be willing to let you have some. They will be finished blooming around July or August and I will have 10 or 12 seed heads. I can dig a few tubers after they go dormant. I'm not sure if they will help with the dear problem, but they are a nice plant to have. You might not want to plant a lot because if you ever decide to move it or get rid of it, you might have a hard time removing all of the small tubers. If you are interested, e-mail me and let me know and I can contact you when they are ready.

George - I just bought tubers at Home Depot for my arum italicum. I also bought more this year at my local garden center under the name of Van Bloom. You might check your local garden centers right now for packaged bulbs and tubers. A lot of them carry them. I think I paid about $2.99 for a package of 2. The tubers were very nice and fresh.

Well, they grow wild all over Devon, Cornwall and Channel Islands, UK, but your border control people probably would not let them into the US from here without tons of certification etc.
