? Rooting Alocasia

houstonpat

During lunch I salvaged a couple Alocasias with verticle rhizomes about 4" in diameter (damaged single leaf). Access was bad and I chopped through the stem capturing only about half a dozen roots and exposing the flesh below. Sorry photo not currently available. My plan is to leave cool and dry until I get home after work, then soak in good quality rooting liquid -w- hormones for awhile. Remove and then coat the cut area in powder rooting compound and allow to dry overnight. Tomorrow pot up in sand & peatmoss, 50/50, watering with liquid rooting mix and placing it in my unheated greenhouse.

Does anyone have thoughts or suggestions on my plan??
