konjac finished blooming and has no shoot left!!

Ok my konjac finished flowering 2 weeks ago and no there appears that they original shoot is not there anymore but there is another one. Look here.

I was hopeing that the original shoot would stay. Does anyone know from experience what mine is going to do. Am i going to get 2 petioles this summer? I know that the one shoot on the side of the big ring is growing up. The flower by the way was 54 inches tall.

The first shoot was the flower.....it is supposed to shrivel and break away from the tuber like that....the one coming up now is the petiole.....normal behaviour....if it had set seed the petiole would be coming up along side the infructescence, which is why the petiole is coming up from the side and not the middle like in previous years when you just had a leaf :o) Dan
