Last summer I was given a Dracunculus tuber. It was packaged as a novelty not bought from a nursery. It was not dated so I have no idea how long it had already been dormant. Six weeks ago I potted it and watered it and there is still no sign of it breaking dormancy.
I have heard that in response to adverse conditions they can stay dormant for years. This is apparently the case with this one.
Is there anything I can do to encourage it to come out of this prolonged sleep? A dose of gibberilic acid maybe?
Thanks
Joe
