Oh yes, mine should be fully open in the next couple of days. This is the first time seeing this, so I'm very excited. The inflorescense is HUGE! I deeply inhaled but didn't smell anything. So I guess I have a few more days of waiting.

Mine usually bloom sometime in May. I had about 10 or 15 flowers last year. Do any of you leave yours in the ground all year?

2 of mine have fully opened this weekend. Took several hundred pictures of them lol. Wow, smells exactly like my garbage can. The smell is there, but not very strong. My Typhonium venosum is at least 10x more stinky. It was hard to photograph the T. venosum because the smell was so bad. Had no problems getting up close and personal with the vulgaris. Not sure if I wish it had more or less stink ;)

When mine flowered last year, I was surprised how strong the odor was. Now I can't wait until one of my Amorphophallus paeoniifolius or konjac flower. That will be a real stinker.

My T.Venosum did not stink all the much at all. There was a period of maybe an hour where you could not go near it without gaging, but other than that you could hold it in your hand and just be mildly offended. I managed to trick a few people into sticking there nose right in it though. I hope my Dracunculus stink much more! They make great pranks.

Thanks to all for the info,Ileave mine in ground all year but im in FL,I took pic's&it really didn't stink that bad,just the 1st day after opening,smelled like rotting carcass is all,LOL,they sure are pretty.:)

I leave my Dracunculus all year outside on my balcony.
Started with on last year I have five now.
And we had temps below zero for a few weeks last winter.
No problem, also much rain in fall and winter, as usual in the Netherlands.
