Breaking a long dormancy

Posted by temporal-joe 5-6 (My Page) on

Last year in mid summer I was given a dormant Dracunculus corm. It is still dormant. I am wondering if a watering with gibberellic acid would help break it's dormancy.

Anybody have experience using gibberellic acid on dormant corms?

Thanks
Joe

RE: Breaking a long dormancy

good question joe..i dont have experience with dracunculus..i have used gibb acid on other plants as a "hormone stimulant" with good results..
speaking as to some of the "tropical" amorphs.. i used to think i could force corms into periods of there vegetative stages..extending growth.. without success.:)
with my titanum,hewetti.. when they are good and ready to break dormancy..then they do..
good luck to ya !!!!!!!!!!!
