Does anyone know why people who are interested in aquaria and aquariumplants place all the Acorus species in the Acoraceae family?

Never heard of that.

I have learned that the Acurus species are Araceae.

I think Acorus was placed in its own family not too long ago. It is no longer a genus in the Araceae.
