Thanks Susan. I'm not too worried, for now, about it spreading.
I've noticed it in this spot for 2 years now and only there. The leaves have gotten larger each year, but the clump is about the same.
Maybe the ground squirrel that keeps a tunnel along that side of the shop is helping keep it in check? :)
The area it's chosen to grow is the driest area in my yard.

You mean, it was there when you moved into your house? You didn't plant it? How cool and what a surprise? I love arums. Yeah, they do like it on the dry side. What are you feeding that bed to get those big leaves? LOL!

We moved into the house shortly after it was built about 3 1/2 years ago and since the area was formally an orchard, the plant has to be a volunteer.
This is the second summer that I've been adding topsoil/compost to that bed, but only where I'm planting my perennials and none are near the Arum. The area along that wall is totally neglected.......just sitting in pulverized clay soil with a bark mulch. The birds hang out in that area during the winter, so maybe they're fertilizing it! :)

This is a 'new' plant for me and I love the way it looks. I do hope it spreads along the shop wall.

No doubt it will because arums do spread. It should do fine in that location. I love the foliage on them. You can plant the red berries that it will produce in the fall. Despite what everyone says here, a friend gave me some clusters of the berries, which I planted and I'm getting tiny little arum leaves this spring. They're so cute.
