Is something wrong with these flowers?

My 2 Alocasia calidora has put out these flower stalks. As seen in these photos, the top part of the flower bulbs withered and died. The other photo shows the flower (on a different plant) just opening. What caused the flowers to dry up like that? The rest of the plants look healthy.

To me that appears completely natural. It is the lifecycle of the inflorescence. The spathe of the inflorescence in a lot of other members of Araceae fall off after pollination or once past bloom. This is a great question to pose to the members of the IAS at the new forum. Check out the link below.

Thanks, I will check out that forum. I'm not too knowledgeable about this plant, so maybe that's normal for them.
