Amorphophallus paeonifolius-Suran?

I have been reading a few posts on Baumfarn.at, an Austrian site on tree ferns etc, and one guy showed a pic of a brown tuber he got from a market. From what i can gather it is called a Suran. Is that a widely available vegetable on markets etc, as it seems it is used in cooking!

Yes, Indian food markets carry these....most often as frozen food items, but sometimes they can be had as a tuber that can be planted and grown. In the UK I would think the Indian food markets would have them. Best of luck :o) Dan
