Well I didn't get to re-pot as it threw out a leaf and a flower at the same time. I let the flower run most of it's course and chopped it off so the plant would go back to growing the leaf it held stalled out. As the leaf began to expand and unfurl it has several tears along the margin. This has been happening on the last several leaves and the tears end up being large holes by time it's finished. What do I need to do to the tender leaves? Would misting help? It's just unfortunate for them to start blemished when I only get one or two a year and they stay for up to five. Any suggestions appreciated.

I experience this all the time with many Anthurium and Philodendron. The only thing I can recommend is higher humidity to help the plant unfold with less friction. Misting the new leaf may help as well.

I figured that would be the answer. Unfortunately it's in a large room with fluctuating temp and humidity. I will try to keep a spray bottle nearby the next time one gets ready to open.
