does anybody here recognize this plant or know anything about its preference for sun or shade? and hardiness?

| Looking like Alocasia Tigrina Superba. Not all of them have the heavily striped petioles. This plant is a bit fussy in that it likes it a bit dry as opposed to many alocasias. It is reported to like to be underpotted a bit. As for hardiness, got me, I live in the Fl. Keys. Scott |

| thanks olddude. now i at least have a name to look up and find out more! Ahhh....Florida Keys.....went there for the first time last year. LOVED it. Plants and trees amazed me. Didnt want to leave....ha ha! Jay |

| While the plant bears some resemblance to the tigrina superba, if it has reddish undersides to the leaves, it is not tigrina. It is Alocasia princeps 'Purple Cloak'. This plant does not like to be kept too wet, and does not like temperatures below 60 degrees F. It grows best in moderate shade. LariAnn |
