I bought an Alocasia x amazonica from a local big box for one of my summer plantings but we had some chilly weather in early May. I got down to 34ºF for a couple of nights but it wasn't until a couple of weeks later that the leaves turned to mush. The tuber is still alive with two apparently dormant buds but it refuses to grow. How do I get it going? Is there a temperature that needs to be exceeded before growth initiates?
