It looks like it is starting to open now. It won't break the world record, but not bad for a Wisconsin grown plant!

I checked it out last night in person. This is officially the first A. titanum that i've smelled and man, it stank. It really didn't smell like a rotting corpse though. It was more like what a wall full of dead mice would smell like, only with more of a "chemical" smell to it. Almost like what a perfume maker would accomplish in trying to recreate that dead-mouse smell. Hehe.
Anyway, it was huge, even though it didn't break any records. I think it ended up being around 100 inches tall before it bloomed.
Now, if i could talk to someone at the botany department there about getting some of those seeds later this year!
