Alocasia macrorrhiza sun tolerance?

After much searching, i can not decide where to plant the alocasia macrorrhiza bulb i got. Should I plant it beside the pool in full sun, or under an old oak in part shade. Websites and people vary in testimony as to where the alocasia does best, but can i get a consensus as to which exposure it really prefers!

Plant it in full sun. Only alocasias grown in pots require some shade. But I grow mine in pots sunk in the ground. Full sun of course. Roots grow freely thru holes in the bottom of pots so plants don't feel rootbound and it's easy to take them in for winter without destroying whole root system.

Agree. Lots of sun, water, and fertilizer.
