Oh crap before someone corrects me. Alocasia!!!! :-P

This plant grows year round for me, but should be dug up before a freeze if grown in Virginia. I've heard that if you have it in a very protected area and cover it heavily with mulch, it can overwinter in the ground, but I'd bring in a backup corm just in case. They are heavy feeders when growing so they need a rich organic soil mix or ample fertilization, plus plenty of water. They grow big, really big, very fast, if the weather is warm.
