What To Do When Leaves/Flowers Fall Over?

Hello,

Last summer I moved into a house here in Seattle and the previous owner must've been Calla Crazy because she has various types all over the place. OK, but the humongous ones (prox. 5-6ft tall with typical white 'funeral' flowers) start to fall over about this time of year. I'm assuming nothing is wrong, it's just that they seem to get too heavy for their structure. They look stupid that way so I've been cutting the stalks as they fall over. Is this the right thing to do or should one stake them? Or is there some other trick to this?

TIA,

---JC
