| Anyone know anything about this one? I see it listed on a commercial supplier but cannot find any info on the web. Just curious. |

| I know.....there's really no info about it. I'm going to try and make it to the IAS show and sale in September. Hoping to find it there. I need it for the collection :) |

| I'd suspect it might just be a marketing ploy. It's good to be able to offer something which no one else has. The IAS would be a good place to find out. It may only be something like a Thai Giant with a new label, one that has been grown in Malaysia perhaps. |

| Definitely A. portei will look different to a Thai Giant. This is a photo of some I came across in my wanderings a few years ago. It was in New Guinea though, so maybe it could be called "Alocasia New Guinea Monster". |

| A few sites have it now. Logee's pic says Courtesy of Malesiana Tropicals (I think). Same photo (or plant) at Agristarts but reversed. Looks nice. If Agristarts has it, it will be everywhere. |

| I hate buzz names...fads w/e... on the plus side that excites me, thats a plant i have admired from my computer chair only...and searched quite a bit for...I just cant swallow the cost of buying starts online, or the thought of a resonably common extremly fast growing plant is really going to cost 20+ for a start with 3 tiny leaves... theres always lots of nice overflow from agristarts tho, once they start carring something its only a matter of time til it floats thru here : D |
