Rejuvenating Alocasia wentii variegata

I have a very nice A. wentii variegata that has outgrown its welcome in my sunroom. It is over 3' above the pot and over 4' across, with 19" long leaves. I like the plant, but it is too large! It shows no signs of making pups, growing only from the single crown. Can anyone suggest how I might keep it, while reducing its size? Do I dare cut it back to the ground, in hopes it will "branch out" and start growing from multiple crowns? I would replace it with a smaller plant and start again, but the local nursery where I bought it no longer has them available.
