Susan,
I grow this Pinellia along with most other Pinellia spp. and when it has an flower, actually an inflorence and when it begins to bend to the ground, clip it off and dispose of it in the garbage not the compost bin, so it will not seed around! It is VERY prolific and it grows rapidly from seed.
It also will spread by producing offsets, but I find that not as invasive as a foot tall inflorence bending and releasing many seeds throughout your garden.

Chris, mine is just a baby that I ordered from Lazy S's Farm (www.lazyssfarm.com). Like I said, it only had 1 stalk when I got it, but now I have about 5 new leaves poking up.

I really don't mind if it's invasive. By the time it seeds out into the yard, it will get mowed down by my lawn service anyway. I have a very large back yard and need tons of invasive plants to fill it up. If you can wait a year, and no one else has one to share, I'll be more than happy to give you some.
