Have i got this right ? Wintering Elephant ears

i pulled this together from numerous other postings....pls let me know if i miseed anything.

1) Cut stems to about 6 inches.

2) Dig deep to get out corm

3) Wash of all dirt

4) Peel off remaining stem but dont damage corm

5) Remove any rotting part

6) Dry for 3 days in dark warm area (e.gBasement)

7) Sprinkle with fungicide (cxan soemone reocmmend a bradn)

8) Pack in peet ios and a breathing cointainer (clth bag, carbord box, etc).

9) Inspect thru winter for rotting.

Did I miss anything ? Exactly when should I take it out of the ground (when temp hits 50 ? 40 ? First Frost ?
