amorph muelleri and sauromatum v.

I can store konjac in my dark cool basement as a bare bulb of any size on a shelf just fine.
My winters here are long-they won't go out for 7 months now.

Can I do the same with these new ones?
A. muelleri went in as seed this summer- not sure about bulb size by now- guessing tiny.
A. sauromatum venoum which was a golf ball size bulb early this summer.

Thanks for your advice,

Karen

Hi Karen,

These are both fairly robust species. You should be fine doing the same thing you've done with your konjacs.

Sauromatum venosum will very likely do fine in a pot as well - it's pretty weedy and not as prone to rot.

Smaller tubers can sometimes dry out under conditions like yours, and a lot of people will store them in more a more humid atmosphere ( in some sort of moderately damp, but very loose medium ), but since you've said even your small konjacs aren't drying out, I'm guessing you'll be fine.

Albert,
I toured your greenhouse via the net!

Thanks for your thoughts. I can breath easy!
