amorphophallus titanum 6 month seed has germinated!

Hello,
At Christmas, i ordered 3 titan arum seeds from a trusted seller. The seeds she was supposed to have sent me obviously got lost in the post somewhere and she sent me 3 complimentary seeds instead (one of which germinated and turned out to be albino before dying)! Two weeks ago, a battered parcel arrived and turned out to be the seeds that had been lost. Two had shrivelled up and one had shrivelled up slightly but looked still viable. I had read that they lose their viability around 1 month after being removed from the berry but I planted it, and today, I dicovered a bud accompanied by several white roots peeping through the soil! I cannot believe it! Is this the longest an A. Titanum seed has been stored? Sorry for the rambling!
Thanks, WILL POST PICS SOON!

| I won't claim to know mutch about Titanum viability James. Congrats though on getting one to germinate! I purchased a small plant this year. There seems to be a very stong desire by most Amorph. admire-ees to aquire a Titanum, myself included. John |

Thanks, there are several smaller leaf buds coming off the baby tuber, does this mean it is not A.titanum? Or did the embryo mutate because of the long storage time? Weird! James |

| That's interesting!? I wish I had an answer. There has been talk going around that there is a variety of true A. Titanum that does produce offsets. From what I understand that is a very rare trait and that variety is much sought after by collectors. Good luck james! |
