More grocery store Elephant Ears - Yautia (Xanthasoma?)

While I have been really happy with the eddoes (Colocasia) I found at my local Farmers' Market, (Actually I am developing a taste for it fried like fried potatoes), I just encountered Yautia today at a different market. Most google references agree that this is one of the Xanthasoma species. Looking at the data on Aroid.org, this looks interesting also although there is no possible way it will be hardy in my zone although the eddoes might just make it.

Is anyone growing or has grown this as an outdoor ornamental in zone 7 or 6?

George

Xanthosoma sagittifolium (L.) Schott is often sold as Yautia in Latin countries. In South Florida you can find it in almost any supermarket.
