Are the variegated wentii unstable? I planted one last year, when it came back this year it was soild green. It didn't even have the purple on the back of the leaves like the solid does.
Mine was very mottled in colr until I put it in medium-to-deep shade. Then the variegations became more prominent and lighter. I now have very nice variegation.
Fernaly, may I suggest fertilizing with a tablespoon of Epsom salts to a gallon of water and a generous sprinkle of a time release fertilizer similar to Osmocote. Also, I don't water mine very often, maybe a good watering once a week. I lost a regular wentii to rot by over watering. So for the variegated Wentii I have watered sparingly and it has thrived. It is strange that different varieties within the same family have different water requirements. Alocasia macrorrhiza requires moderate watering but A. Macro. variegata likes wet feet. Good luck to you.
