'Shingle' plants in South America

woodnative

During a vacation in Ecuador (beautiful!!) I found some sort of "shingle plant" growing on trees. This appeared to be an Aroid (no flower)...very Philodendron (or Monstera?) like, the leaves and stems very FLAT against the treetrunk. There were a lot of other Philodendrons and things on the surrounding trees.

What shingle plants grow there?? My best guess was that it is a juvenile form of some Monstera. Correct?

This was in the jungles east of the Andes.

Any ideas?
