Unless there was a portion of the "bulb" as you call it that has an intact growing eye still attached to your leaves, they are most likely goners.

well i saw some type of new forming thing on the side of the leaves and it was cut near the bottom, i can't tell if theres bulb but its still green today, but if it dies, thats alright, just an experiment. the bulb will be going to another forum member so i just thought why not try something with the top if i get good results ill share them

I think you will do fine. Your pictures look like some type of alocasia. I've had lots of success with pruning them, just like you did, and rooting the top portion while the roots will put up new plants. You will probably have multiple plants come up from the roots. As long as the soil is warm and not soggy wet, the top part should root without problem.
