how do you germinate alocasia seeds?

    Check out this link. I used the information to start several alocasia macrorrhiza and I found the information to be excellent. Hope this helps.

    The most important thing I have found is that the seed MUST be fresh; old seed (out of pericarp (fruit pulp) more than a couple of weeks) or old fruit in which the pericarp has dried onto the seeds will have very low germination percentages.

    I looked at the Aroid Society link. It has been my experience that alocasia seeds will sprout after just falling to the soil. I just pick them when they turn color, scratch the soil so it is slightly loose, drop the seeds and lightly cover. They pop right up, even in a cool greenhouse.
